In a new post on Twitter, NASA shared stunning pictures of Mars. The post has gone viral on social media.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration or NASA shared stunning pictures of Mars in a new post on Twitter on Thursday. Also known as the Red Planet, Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and the second-smallest planet in the Solar System.

The images of Mars that NASA shared in its post are nothing short of magical and went viral soon after being made available online.

“Beautiful Mars! Our Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter launched 15 years ago today to study the Red Planet’s atmosphere, weather, subsurface water, and more. But the mission might best be known for the images sent by its @HiRISE,” NASA said in the caption of its post.

NASA’s post has garnered over 20,000 likes and 4,000 retweets. The internet was filled with amazement after the pictures surfaced and shared thoughts and opinions in the comments section of the post.

“Not simply beautiful, but extremely beautiful,” a user said. Another comment reads, “Thank you for these beautiful images!”

Considering that Mars is a terrestrial planet, its surface consists of minerals containing silicon and oxygen apart from metals.
