Johor DAP, Bersatu excos to be axed

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor’s DAP and Bersatu excos who have fallen out of favor of the state ruler are expected to be axed in the upcoming exco reshuffle, reported Malaysiakini.

The two are Mazlan Bujang (Bersatu-Puteri Wangsa) and Tan Hong Pin (DAP-Skudai).

Tan who was Mengkibol assemblyman had disagreed with Johor ruler, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar on opposing the proposal on live telecasting the state legislative assembly in 2017. He even called upon the then BN government to persuade the sultan.

After Pakatan Harapan took over the state, he was forced to apologise on behalf of two councillors. One Iskandar Puteri councillor issued an official letter in Mandarin and English. Another councillor posted a rude comment against Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong has also confirmed that Tan would be dropped even though newly minted Menteri Besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal has not discussed the matter with him.

During the Johor MB crisis that saw the former menteri besar Datuk Osman Sapian, the ruler requested for an exco reshuffle. Sahruddin confirmed a reshuffle would be done within a fortnight.

Another leader that is confirmed to be dropped is Osman.

The replacements for the three are speculated to be Mohd Solihan Badri (Bersatu-Tenang), Che Zakaria Mohd Salleh (Bersatu-Permas) and Andrew Chen Kah Eng (DAP-Stulang).
