Deep state agenda: Lim’s latest diversion tactic, says MCA

PUCHONG: Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng seems to be engrossed in conspiracy theories instead of managing the nation’s finances, said MCA today.

In a statement, MCA vice president Datuk Tan Teik Cheng said that Lim’s comments were unjustified and only serves to hide the government’s inefficiency in managing the nation.

“Lim claims that there are hidden hands trying to take down the government. I find unjustified as DAP is the largest component party in Pakatan Harapan,” he said.

Yesterday, Lim claimed that there were ‘deep state’ operatives trying to dismantle the Pakatan coalition, by breaking it up and bring down the government.

“The deep state was not elected by the rakyat but is trying to secretly take down the Pakatan government that the people have voted for.

“Although it is just a small minority, it could cause a lot of harm to the democracy of this country,” the minister was reported saying yesterday at the Johor DAP convention.

Dismissing Lim’s argument, Tan said the DAP was too feeble to restrain prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and stop the government from perpetuating racial sentiments.

“What is the point of this besides trying to push the grievances of the people towards some imaginary perpetrators? Does he think the people mere fools?

“Lim is just trying to deflect criticism against the government by adopting a sensational claim of being hounded by deep state,” he said.
