Covid 19: Astro broadcast centre closed after staff diagnosed positive

PUCHONG: Astro Malaysia has closed its Bukit Jalil broadcast centre for two days after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement, Astro has confirmed that one of its staff members have been tested positive for COVID-19. Following this, All Asia Broadcast Center (AABC) in Bukit Jalil is being closed for the next two days for full sanitization.

The digital broadcast service provider said the employee, who works at the outside broadcast (OB Truck) transportation team was diagnosed with coronavirus on April 5.

According to its official statement, the Astro employee who was tested positive for COVID-19 is currently being treated at a government hospital. The company has begun contact tracing in order to identify other individuals that might have been in contact with the employee for further action.

Astro services will continue as usual. Despite the temporary closure of AABC, everything is still business as usual for Astro as the company has activated its contingency plans to remain operational.
