Sri Lanka bomb blasts: Second Shangrila Hotel suicide bomber identified

COLOMBO: It has been confirmed that the second suicide bomber Insan Seelavan and Zahran Hashim are the two suicide bombers in Shangrila Hotel.

The second suicide bomber at the Shangrila Hotel has been identified as Insan Seelavan, a factory owner Avissawella- Wellampitiya road.

Seelavan’s wife and sister were killed in a bomb blast that took place in the northern suburb of Orugodawatta called Dematagoda.

Nine employees from that factory were arrested by the Wellampitiya Police and were remanded till May 6 after being produced in the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.

Both of them were also involved in murdering the family members of prominent spice trader, Ibrahim Dawood Hathiyar on Sunday when Christians celebrated Easter Sunday

In a related development, a Muslim minister too is being investigated for a possible involvement in the bomb blasts that claimed the lives of nearly 400 people and injuring 600.

“The police are investigating our Muslim ministers. The identity of the minister however has not been revealed,” said The Leaders Online correspondent Ashraff A Samad.
