Perak DAP exco may be charged for rape tomorrow
KUALA LUMPUR: DAP Perak assemblyman Paul Yong Choo Kiong, who was alleged to have raped his Indonesian maid, is expected to be charged in court tomorrow, said theedgemarkets.com.
Yong, 49, was arrested by the police on July 9 following a police report filed by the 23-year-old maid the day before, accusing him of committing the act in his residence in Meru, Ipoh.
He was later released on police bail.
The case was investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
Yong is the Perak state executive council member for Tronoh, and handles the State Local Government, Public Transport, Non-Muslim Affairs and New Villages Committee portfolio.
