Najib involved in Altantuya’s murder? Pakatan wants to muzzle me, says ex-PM

PUCHONG: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak alleged that the Pakatan Harapan government is moving to silence him for good by implicating him to the murder Mongolian translator, Altantuya Shaariibuu in 2006.

In a Facebook post today, the Pekan MP said the government had resorted to this new tactic as they were unable to rebut his stinging criticisms against their policies, which was always backed with facts and figures.

“I have also been told that the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and SRC International proceedings in court did not lead to the impact the government was hoping for.

“Pakatan’s cybertroopers and their propaganda have made little impact and is outdated as well,” he said.

Earlier today, news portal Malaysiakini reported that ex-police commando, Azilah Hadri had signed a statutory declaration (SD) on Oct 17, claiming that Najib had instructed him and fellow officer, Sirul Azhar Umar to murder Altantuya back in 2006.

Najib was then the deputy prime minister cum defence minister.

In the SD, Azilah claimed that Najib had given him the ‘shoot to kill’ order verbally during a meeting in Pahang on Oct 17, 2006. The latter had claimed that Altantuya was a ‘foreign spy’ threatening national security.

He also claimed that the Pekan MP had ordered him to dispose off Altantuya’s body using explosives and not to mention Najib’s involvement in the clandestine operation to anyone.

In his defence, Najib today decried Azilah’s SD as a complete fabrication and questioned why the former police officer came out with the declaration now.

“If you want to believe the SD from a death row inmate, can we also believe the SD signed by a former officer of a certain future prime minister that the latter had sexually assaulted him?

“So what happens now? Will Azilah’s death sentence be revoked or postponed due to this new turn of events?” asked Najib.

According to Malaysiakini, Azilah’s SD was submitted in court to support his application in the Federal Court for a review of the death sentence handed down on him and Sirul in 2015.

Sirul, who had since escaped to Australia, is now imprisoned in a maximum security facility in Sydney.
