Muhyiddin: Refrain from provoking nation harmonies

PUCHONG: All parties have been urged to stop speculating or passing remarks touching on sensitive issues.

Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said those who failed to comply and continue to play up sensitive issues would face the full brunt of the law.

Muhyiddin said these are serious matters and unhealthy developments that might provoke our nation harmonies.

“Referring to several issues that were viral of late I advised all parties to stop giving comments or organising activities that touch the nation sensitivities,” he said in a statement today.

He was commenting on the reports of the wrong usage of Jalur Gemilang and Negaraku sung in Mandarin.

Muhyiddin said legal action will be taken on the parties that were found trying to incite or caused disharmony in the country.

“Insulting our national symbol is irresponsible and unpatriotic,” he said.

Commenting on the meeting of former Malayan Communist Party held in Selangor, he said, the police are investigating the matter.

“The development of the investigation will be made public soon.

“The revival of communist party and movement in the country must be stopped,” he said.
