IGP: Yusoff’s polygraph test is inadmissible as evidence

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said former PKR research officer Muhammad Yusoff Rawther’s polygraph test was only meant to facilitate investigation.

Hamid also stressed that the test cannot be accepted as evidence in the court proceedings.

“The test was done by the investigation team just to find out whether Yusoff is lying or telling the truth.

“If he is saying the truth, we will work on identifying the weaknesses of the case and where the evidence lies,” he said at a press conference in Bukit Aman today.

He was commenting on Yosoff’s allegations that the latter was sexually assaulted by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Hamid said until now, the police are still trying to establish when and where the said incident happened.

On Dec 17, Yusoff went to Bukit Aman to undergo the polygraph test.
