Hisham: Four new cases COVID-19 detected in Malaysia
PUCHONG: Health Ministry today confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 detected in the country, which bring the total of 29 cases.
Its director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said a Malaysian man aged 52 who had traveled to Shanghai, China in January had been confirmed infected with the coronavirus yesterday.
“He is now receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital,” he said in a statement.
Hisham said another case is a local female aged 20 who also been confirmed infected with the virus yesterday.
“She is an intern nurse who had been close contact with the COVID-19 patient case number 24. She is now receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” he said.
He added a local male aged 45 also had been confirmed infected with the coronavirus yesterday and now receiving treatment at the isolation ward in Sungai Buloh Hospital
“He is the colleague of COVID-19 patient case number 25. Both of them had traveled to Milan, Italy between Feb 15 until 21,” he said.
Hisham said another case is a local female aged 35 who had been confirmed infected with the coronavirus yesterday.
“Earlier she was warded with a COVID-19 patient number 24 at a private hospital on Feb 21 who at the time we do not know was infected with the coronavirus.
“After the Health Department did a contact screening for patient number 24, she was detected and now receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital,” he said.
