Heed weather forecast, maritime community told
MELAKA: The maritime community in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan are advised to heed to the latest weather information and sea condition before going for any sea-related activities to ensure their safety.
Melaka/Negeri Sembilan Maritime deputy director Maritime Commander Azman Samsudin also urged the community to get detailed information on safety at sea from relevant authorities.
They are also advised to take precautionary measures and adhere to laws and regulations when they are at sea, he said in a statement today.
He added as the main agency in maritime search and rescue operation for Melaka and Negeri Sembilan region, the agency has always taken the initiative to increase patrolling activities to prevent any untoward incident.
At the same time, the agency also increases its enforcement activity to curb criminal activities in the Straits of Malacca, he said.
