Anwar hit with another sex scandal claim, victim’s elder defends PKR supremo

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, yet again, is hit with another sexual misconduct allegation.

The latest allegation was made by Anwar’s former research officer, 26-year old Muhammad Yusoff Rawther in a statutory declaration (SD) dated Nov 19.

The purported SD was released via a press conference yesterday, a day before the PKR annual national delegates’ congress which is to be held in Malacca today.

However, The Leaders Online is yet to obtain a copy of the SD for verification.

Yusoff is the grandson of the legendary consumer advocate, the late SM Mohamed Idris, who passed away early this year.

In a statement, Yusoff’s grand-uncle Mohideen Abdul Kader said that the former has been estranged from the family since Idris passed away.

He also alleged that Yusoff may have been manipulated by certain quarters into making this latest allegation.

“I find it peculiar that this claim is coming just days before the PKR annual congress.

“The incident was alleged to have occurred on Sept 23, 2018, more than a year ago but no family members knew about it, including his grandfather, who was close to him,” said Mohideen.

Yusoff had also lodged a police report against Anwar’s political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak early this year, claiming the latter had assaulted him but nothing was mentioned against the PKR supremo.

Lamenting on the latest turn of events, Mohideen said that it was unfortunate that New Malaysia is still embroiled in ‘politics of sodomy.’

“It’s disappointing that this allegation keeps happening again and again. I urge Malaysians to reject such gutter politics.” he said.
