Govt to take action against Tatoo Malaysia Expo 2019 organiser for lewd showcase

PUCHONG: The government will take action against Tatoo Malaysia Expo 2019 organiser for allegedly showcasing lewd exhibition.

Tourism, Culture and Arts Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi said the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCeB) has been ordered to investigate the exhibition, that was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from Nov 29 to Dec 1.

“I was informed the exhibition was held in a closed door venue but it still goes against our norms and morality.

“Organising a world class event is good but not this way as it doesn’t show the true image of Malaysia,” he said, in a statement today.

Mohamaddin said the expo was first held at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in 2015 but there were no reports of lewdness back then.

“We will wait for MyCeb report on the matter and we will not hesitate to take appropriate action, including legal action, if the organiser had indeed broken any laws,” he said.
