EC to meet on Wednesday to discuss state election dates
KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting on Wednesday to determine, among others, the nomination and polling dates for the six state elections.
EC secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said the special meeting will be chaired by EC Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh on July 5, 2023 (Wednesday).
“The EC would like to inform that we have received notice of the official dissolution of the 14th State Legislative Assembly (DUN) for the states of Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pulau Pinang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan from the respective DUN Speakers.
“The meeting will be held to discuss important matters related to the 15th state elections such as election writ, nomination day, polling date, electoral roll to be used and other preparation for the polls,” he said.
