“Would Guan Eng, Fuziah join 818 rally?’

PUCHONG: An opposition leader took a jibe at Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and Deputy Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Fuziah Salleh over their changed stance from “Stop Lynas Save Malaysia to Save Malaysia Keep Lynas.”

“Is it likely that Lim and Fuziah would also join the 818 rally?  Would burning the manifesto make the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government realise to uphold their electoral promises?” Ayer Hitam MP Wee Ka Siong who is also MCA president said.

A rally has been organised by an anti Lynas group, Stop Lynas Save Malaysia (SMSL) on 18 Aug in Taman Gelora, Kuantan to protest the government’s decision in giving the green light for Lynas to continue its operations.

The government gave the green light yesterday.

The PH alliance had taken an anti Lynas stance prior to winning the election. DAP’s Wong Tack and Fuziah of PKR were among the most vocal MPs against the rare earth company.

Wong Tack who is currently Bentong MP even pledged to burn down the rare earth plant in his bid to win the parliamentary seat.

The police had questioned Wong Tack over the threat.
