World Halal Expo: Virtual solution to healthcare industry

Kuala Lumpur: The global COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly disrupted normal business practices and activities. But this has not stopped MyEvents International, Nigeria from conducting World Halal Webinar Series 2, The Future of Halal in Healthcare and Pharmaceutical which was held on the 20th October 2020 virtually in conjunction with the World Halal Expo (Virtual) 2020.

The World Halal Webinar Series-2 is an avenue for Muslim medical tourists, medical tourism providers, institutional investors and Halal or medical practitioners to share current updates on medical device, surgical instruments and vaccination product related to Halal.

President/Chairman Ibnu Sina’s Medical Charity Organization of Malaysia Datuk Dr Suhaini bin Kadiman, said the Webinar Series 1, emphasised on the “Future of Halal”, bilateral trade especially in Halal related products and development of Halal framework between Malaysia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria attracted more than 227 delegates from 31 countries worldwide.

“Halal market especially in health products is expected to enhance international networking and business relations amongst the stakeholders in the halal community,” he said.

“We know that other countries are also looking to collaborate with Malaysia in order to strengthen the global halal ecosystem as the global halal industry presents a huge opportunity,” he added.

The virtual webinar series recorded 136 delegates from 18 countries that have attended the second series of World Halal Webinar on healthcare and pharmaceutical.

In the same platform, World Halal Awards also took flight online. In the awards Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min, Secretary General of Ministry of Health was awarded with “Visionary Leadership in Emerging Healthcare”.
