Woman falls from 650-foot cliff moments after accepting fiance’s proposal, survives

When your partner proposes you, the proposal is supposed to be dreamy, right? However, what was supposed to be romantic, turned deadly for one couple in Carinthia, Austria as the woman fell down a 650-foot cliff, moments after saying yes.

WHAT HAPPENED?

According to The Sun, a 27-year-old man proposed his girlfriend in Carinthia. But the woman, 32, slipped and plunged off the Falkert mountain just after accepting the proposal. The incident took place on December 27. The couple had trekked up the mountain one day earlier.

Reportedly, though she slipped off the 650-foot cliff, she miraculously survived after snow broke the woman’s fall. As for the man, he was left clinging on for dear life on a cliff edge after falling almost 50ft through the air. He had jumped to save his fiance, but he also lost his footing, and the two toppled over the edge.

According to The Daily Mail, the woman was left unconscious near a lake, after the fall. It was an onlooker who took her to safety. Thankfully, she was just left with a concussion. Her fiance, meanwhile, had to be rescued by a helicopter from the cliff edge he was clinging on to. The doctors said that he had a vertebrate fracture.

A police officer at the scene told the Daily Mail, “The two were extremely lucky! Had it not been for snow, it would have turned out very differently.”
