What’s wrong being liberals?
I am going to call a spade a spade. Based on his pronouncements, I must declare that the Johor State Islamic Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Development committee chairman Tosrin Jarvanthi to be dangerous and possibly an extremist. He is labelling Muslims who are tolerant and putting our lives in danger using his position and version of Islam.
1. He declares that 10% of Johorean Muslims practises liberalism. Is liberalism a religion? Is liberalism a sect in Islam? Are you that stupid a human being?
2. He declares that the State is monitoring liberalism to defend Johor’s Islamic faith in collaboration with police Special Branch department. Are you telling us now there is a mazhab called Johor Islam? What deviancy are you promoting?
Are you telling us that the police and Special Branch is being used to monitor people who are liberals? What is going to happen to them? Are they going to disappear like Amri Che Mat and Pastor Koh? Are we living in a fascist police theocratic state like Iran?
Dear Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad,
Is this what our Pakatan Harapan government is today? A Taliban administration that is against liberal values?
To all the idiots out there, here is what Liberalism is defined as by Cambridge Dictionary:
‘An attitude of respecting and allowing many different types of beliefs or behaviour’
So, what is it you want Muslims to be? You want Muslims to be intolerant? You want Muslims to not respect other people’s beliefs and curb them and their freedom to live their lives in accordance to their beliefs?
If that is what you want, we might as well call this country Afghanistan and you can be Pakatan Taliban.
