Viral message on Jho Low’s arrest untrue

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector General of Police, Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador dispelled rumours that the police had arrested wanted fugitive businessman, Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low.

“We are working towards that end but nothing has been finalised as yet. That message is incorrect,” said Hamid in a statement.

Earlier today, The Leaders Online too received the viralled rumours that was spread via WhatsApp.

The message read as the following:

“Breaking News From Insider – JhoLow has been arrested by Chinese government and is to be transferred via RMAF to KLIA. Transpired from Huawei deal talk by Mahathir. The matter has been maintained as confidential for the time being.”

The top cop previously had told the press that the police have found new leads on the whereabouts of Jho Low.

He however was coy about the location of the man who is allegedly responsible for the 1MDB scandal.
