Two die after their motorcycle crashes
NIBONG TEBAL: Two men were killed after their motorcycle hit a car before crashing into an oncoming lorry in Jalan Datuk Keramat here today.
In the incident at about 4.50 pm, A. Durairash, 20, was riding a Honda Ex-5 motorcycle while his colleague Ellarasan, 22, was the pillion rider. Both died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries.
Seberang Perai Selatan district police chief Supt Shafee Abdul Samad said initial investigations showed that a Toyota Vios, heading from Nibong Tebal to Parit Buntar, Perak, had stopped to turn left when the motorcycle hit it from behind.
“The motorcycle crashed into the rear-right of the Toyota Vios before skidding into the opposite lane and crashing into an oncoming lorry, which resulted in the two being flung off their machine,” he said here tonight.
He said the 49-year-old lorry driver and the 24-year-old car driver escaped unhurt.
