The ‘resignation’ of the lawyer in Adib’s case

The ‘resignation’ of the lawyer in Adib’s case

Of course the rag-tag armies will jump onto this issue and started their conspiracy stupid theories about the Attorney General Office.

This is just my opinion. Nothing personal against anyone.

1. The lawyer ought to know better the different roles, each party she’s supposedly representing. The family’s interest is direct. They may have a case against the Government in the event there is any evidence to suggest that Bomba might be implicated. What then is her role as the lawyer for the Bomba and Ministry. There is a clear conflict of interest. It’s proven in the manner and the way she acted in court as reported and witnessed by others, she was acting in contradiction of the AG Chamber’s Counsels approached. It’s simply bizarre.

2. Personally I do feel her actions in court was rather confusing. This is my personal experience with MV Nathan when we were representing the devotees and the temple when we tried to be part of inquest. During one of our hearing, it is the role of the AG Chambers to resist or accept our application and to put submission on it. Lo and behold, the lawyer concerned too wanted to say something about ‘our’ application to appeal and vehemently trying to prove a point. Was she speaking as the lawyer for the government agencies or for the families? In any event, she was only a watching brief lawyer. Her right to speak up is only by the invitation of the court. This was not an inquest proceedings. This is a normal appeal application in court.

3. NOW, THIS IS THE CRUNCH. WHY DID SHE WITHDRAW FROM ALL REPRESENTATIONS? SHE COULD HAVE CONTINUED TO BE THE FAMILY’S LAWYER. Her role would be suitable for the family as the line taken by the AG Chambers would be beneficial for the family… (*Wink..Wink..)
She was clearly asked only to withdraw from representing the government agencies due to the above reasons. No one asked her to discontinue with her representing the families. This is what I kept mulling in my head.

SO, TO THOSE WHO TRIED TO PIN THIS ON THE AG, PLEASE STOP SHOWING YOUR STUPIDITY AND TRYING TO START THIS RACIAL TENSION AGAIN. IT IS THE LAWYER YOU SHOULD ASK. NOT THE AG AS THE AG HAD ALREADY GIVEN HIS REASONS.

ASK THE LAWYER WHY SHE STOPPED BEING THE FAMILY’S LAWYER?

Many took to social media to express their thoughts about it and this was the same for lawyer and activist Siti Kasim who felt strongly about it.
