Teen dies after motorcycle crashes into army truck

KUANTAN: A teenager died, while his friend was seriously injured when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into an army truck at Kilometre 136 of Jalan Kuala Lumpur-Kuantan, in Temerloh about 140 km from here, last night.
Pahang traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Supt Kamarulzaman Jusoh said in the 9.30pm incident, Nazrul Amanna Shafrie Abdullah, 17, who rode the Demak Evo Z motorcycle died on the spot due to severe head injury.
The pillion rider, identified as Muhammad Nazrul Haiqal Abdullah, 17, who sustained severe head injuries was rushed to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital (HOSHAS), Temerloh.
“The incident was believed to have occurred when the motorcycle hit the right side of an army truck coming out from a junction,” he said.
Kamarulzaman said during the incident, the truck was driven by a 41-year-old army personnel from Kem Batu 10, Kuantan.
He said the victim’s body was taken to HOSHAS, adding that investigations into the case were being conducted under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
