Sultan Perak graces state level Nuzul Quran

BATU GAJAH: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah today graced the Perak state-level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration at the Masjid Toh Puan Besar Hatijah, Kampung Serani here last night.

Also present were the Raja Muda of Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa and Raja DiHilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu as well as the State Exco members attended the event which was also attended by about 1,000 people.

The ceremony started with the reading of the Al-Quran by the Main Imam of Masjid Panglima Kinta, Ustaz Qamaruzaman Daud followed by a tahlil session before the breaking of the fast and performing of the Maghrib prayers with the honoured guests and local community at the mosque.

At the event, Sultan Nazrin also launched the Tadabbur Al-Quran Program at the state level.

At the event, Sultan Nazrin also handed over zakat contribution in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri from MAIPk totalling RM1.9 million to the penghulu who represented 7,610 recipients from eight mukim.

At the event, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) general manager Raja Datuk Abd Jalil Raja Zaid also handed a replica of a cheque for RM50,000 as ‘zakat fisabillillah’ to the management of the mosque.
