Six injured in suicide bomb attack at Medan police HQ

JAKARTA: A man walked into a police station in Medan, northern Sumatera, and blew himself up, injuring five policemen and a civilian.
The suicide bomber, clad in a e-hailing transport vest, entered the Medan police headquarters at 8.45 am (9.45 am in Malaysia) pretending that he had something to do there, said a police statement.
The statement said his body was blown to pieces, and police later secured the area.
A spokesman of the Malaysian embassy here confirmed that Malaysians were unaffected by the incident.
