Sex video: Take a break Azmin, says pro-Anwar group

PUCHONG: Otai Reformasi urged Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to take a break from his official duties until the investigation on the sex video implicating him is complete.

“We call upon Azmin to be given a break from his duties until investigations into the sex video implicating him and a 27-year old is complete.

“Let the police and MACC complete their probe on the matter. This will help preserve Pakatan Harapan government’s good name,” said its chairman Dr Idris Ahmad today.

Recently, a sex video was released on Whatsapp allegedly showing Azmin having sex with Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz, PKR Santubong youth chief.

Haziq admitted that it was him in the video but Azmin had denied his involvement. The latter had also lodged police report on the matter.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had also defended Azmin, saying the video was not genuine and was released to tarnish the minister’s reputation.

Taking Mahathir to task, Idris questioned the prime minister on how the latter knew the video was ‘not genuine.’

He added that Mahathir’s response to the matter was way different compared to in 1998, when he sacked his then deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for sodomy and corruption.

“In 1998, Mahathir sacked Anwar before the investigation even commenced. But now, the prime minister’s statement is very different.

“We hope Mahathir is not practising double standards on this matter,” said Idris.
