Sex video: It could be me next, says Dr M

PUCHONG: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he does not believe Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is the man caught being filmed having gay sex in a video clip.

He also said that the video was released by people with certain political agenda of their own.

“I do not believe this is genuine. I’m not so stupid to believe these things. It’s cooked up by someone who can’t fight things properly.

“Nowadays, we can do a lot of things with videos and pictures if we are good at it.

“Perhaps one day you will see a lewd picture of me like that. It would be very funny,” said Mahathir.

Yesterday, Azmin issued a statement denying he was the man in the sex video and said he had directed his legal team to take action on the matter.

He also said that that allegations levelled against him are aimed at destroying his character and ending his political career.

Mahathir also criticised Muhammad Haziq Abdul Aziz for claiming to be the other man shown in the sex video.

He said that any normal man in that situation would be ashamed of it, let alone confess to being part of it.

“It is deliberate. If it was not, why would he confess? This guy is not shy.

“‘I am the one who did it with the minister, he says. What does that tell you?

“I don’t know who is behind it, but these kinds of methods should not exist in Malaysia,” said Mahathir.

Asked if he had met with Azmin since the scandal broke, Mahathir said, “Only for Cabinet meetings. All is normal.”
