Salahuddin: Pakatan closing ranks, nominating PM candidate tomorrow

PETALING JAYA: The three remaining parties within Pakatan Harapan has agreed close ranks and propose a name to take over as prime minister.
Speaking to the press, Amanah deputy president Datuk Salahuddin Ayub said that the coalition would submit the name tomorrow during an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
“Let’s talk about it and make a decision. Today’s discussion involves the three remaining parties in Pakatan , ”he said, when met after attending the Pakatan Presidential Council meeting at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya, today.
However, Salahuddin refused to divulge details on whom will be nominated as prime minister, adding that the matter would be announced tomorrow.
“The matter is being discussed and we have reached an agreement, so wait for tomorrow,” said the former minister.
Yesterday, the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) announced that the party had withdrawn from the Pakatan coalition.
The move came after Langkawi MP, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced his resignation as Prime Minister and relinquished his Bersatu chairmanship.
On what other matters was discussed in today’s meeting, Salahuddin said, “It was about bringing back unity and coming up with a collective answer to be presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong tomorrow.”
