Ronnie Liu say bye for DAP

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 – DAP veteran Ronnie Liu has announced that he wants to leave the party.

In a letter addressed to the party’s secretary-general Anthony Loke, Liu has requested to end his membership.

“I am a member of the Central Executive Committee that will end my service in 2025.

“I have been involved in the DAP’s struggle since high school and subsequently became a member in 1982.

“However, 41 years have passed and with DAP many things have happened and some (incidents) were beyond my expectations.

“With that, I request to end my membership with DAP with effect from June 24 (Saturday).

“Thank you for all the opportunities and confidence given to me all this while.

“May DAP continue to progress and always hold the principles of democratic socialism and the vision of a “Malaysian Malaysia”.”

On Oct 8, Liu, who is the Sungai Pelek assemblyman and Selangor executive councillor, said he had no choice but to quit the party he has been with since 1982, but did not state why.

On Oct 13, he decided to put on hold his intention as he wanted to do his part to ensure victory for Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the 15th General Election (GE15) after the dissolution of the parliament on Oct 10.
