RM9.16 mln spent last year for MAIPs’ housing schemes

KUALA PERLIS: The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) spent RM9.16 million last year to provide housing assistance to eligible recipients statewide, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
“MAIPs has provided a total of 3,799 houses throughout the state from 2013 until last year, as a result of contributions from tithe payers,” said Tuanku Syed Faizuddin who is also MAIPs president, in a statement issued by the council today.
Meanwhile, MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor said a total of 727 houses were assisted by the council throughout last year.
He said the assistance involved three schemes which were implemented through collaboration with 102 mosques in Perlis.
