Police: Nora Anne died due to intestinal bleeding, no evidence of assault

SEREMBAN: The authorities have ruled out foul play in their investigation into the death of Irish teenager, Nora Anne Quoirin.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop said that based on the nine-hour long autopsy done on Nora Anne’s remains, it was concluded that the teenager’s death was caused by upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
“Medical experts also found that she was not raped. There is nothing to show that she was abducted or subjected to any form of violence,” he told reporters at the state police contingent today.
Mohamad added that the post-mortem also found that Nora Anne could have died between two and three days before she was found.
“There were no injuries to her body, except for a bruise to her leg but this was not cause of her death,” he said.
On Aug 4, Nora Anne was reported missing after her family checked into The Dusun Resort for a holiday.
She had checked into the resort with her parents Sebastian Marie Philipe and Meabh Jaseprine Quoirin and siblings Innes Julia and Maurice Arthure on Aug 3.
After a 10-day search, Nora Anne’s body was found near a stream about 2.5 kilometres away from the resort.
A four-member team led by Kuala Lumpur Hospital forensic pathologist Dr Siew Sheue Feng, Hospital Tuanku Jaafar forensic pathologist Dr Hanif Mohammad, Dr Aidora Saedon from the Chemistry Department and Sufian Arshad Ahmad from the Forensic Department conducted autopsy on Nora Anne’s yesterday.
