Permission to operate liquor factory revoked
PUCHONG: Permission to operate under the Movement Control Order (CPP) issued to the liquor factory, Heineken have been canceled.
Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa made the announcement via his Twitter account today. “It was canceled this morning because it was not in line with government policy,” he said.
Earlier, he demanded immediate action on the Heineken liquor factory which was allowed to operate under the MCO. He said it was not in line with the policy taken by the government and action should be taken immediately on the issue.
Yesterday on social media a letter allegedly issued by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) gave permission for the factory to operate during the CPP.
This is to ensure that the supply of liquor is adequate throughout the CPP period. The letter invited a number of public opinion seeking clarification on the issue.
