PBS: Linda Tsen candidate for Sandakan by-election

SANDAKAN: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) today named vice-president and two-term MP Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin as its candidate for the Sandakan parliamentary by-election.

PBS president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili made the announcement and said the 63-year-old former Batu Sapi MP has a proven track record.

Ongkili said the party would pursue pertinent issues, namely the Malaysia Agreement 1963, security and development matters that affect the livelihood of the people.

He also said that PBS has the support of other political parties, like Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), United Sabah National Organisation (Usno), Umno and MCA, in the by-election.

Tsen was elected the Batu Sapi MP in a by-election in 2010 following the death of the MP, Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah, her husband.

The DAP has named Vivian Wong Shir Yee, 30, as its candidate for the by-election, necessitated by the death of the MP and Shir Yee’s father Datuk Stephen Wong Tien Fatt on March 28.
