PAS: Harakah is now in debt

PUCHONG: PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has confirmed that the party’s mouthpiece, Harakah, has run into debt with its previous printer.

However, he dismissed claims that Harakah had deliberately stopped its business with the previous printer and hired a new one.

“The previous company had gone bankrupt, hence we changed to a new printer.

“I don’t want to say more, but the claim that we deliberately fled because we ran into debt is untrue,” he told reporters when met at a campaign to fly the Jalur Gemilang in Kota Bharu, yesterday.

The Kota Bharu MP said this when asked about the allegation that was circulating on social media, in wake of calls by PAS supporters to boycott non-Muslim products.

Some netizens had claimed that Harakah is now being printed by a non-Muslim-owned business, after running into debt with its previous printer.

Asked on the claims, Takiyuddin refused to comment on the matter.

“That is a business problem. There are arrears to companies, but I don’t want to talk about it,” he said.
