Pakatan tops guns in a ‘meet’ with Dr M now, meeting Agong later

SERI KEMBANGAN: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is now having a ‘discussion’ with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at his private residence in Seri Kembangan.

According to a tip-off, it was said that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu are also present in the private meeting, which started at about 11am.

Initially, the party was supposed to meet Mahathir at the Prime Minister’s Office but turned back to the nonagenarian’s private residence.

Anwar and Wan Azizah are scheduled to have an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at 2.30pm in Istana Negara.

It was speculated that Mahathir was also summoned for the meeting.

Yesterday, Mahathir had an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong along with several leaders from Pakatan Harapan and Muafakat Nasional.

Although many were coy on the details, it was near certain that Mahathir had decided a form a new ruling coalition pact with the opposition and Pakatan leaders aligned to him.

A source told The Leaders Online yesterday that Sultan Abdullah had decided to grant an audience to Anwar and Wan Azizah, as he was unconvinced that Mahathir commanded majority support in the Dewan Rakyat.

On related matter, DAP would be holding a special press conference on the recent happenings later today.
