Official: Dr M quits as PM, Anwar and Wan Azizah at Istana Negara now
PUCHONG: It is official! Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has tendered his resignation.
In a brief statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said that the resignation letter has been delivered to the Istana Negara two hours ago.
“The letter was submitted to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at 1pm,” it said.
It was also reported that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail are now having an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
On related matter, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had announced that his party has formally left the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
Former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and his allied within Pakatan had also left the ruling coalition to form an independent bloc.
