Number of flood evacuees in Sungai Siput rises to 212 this morning
IPOH: The number of flash flood evacuees in Sungai Siput has risen to 212 from as at 7 am today from 207 recorded yesterday.
District Disaster Management Committee Secretariat spokesman said three other families were evacuated last night after their houses were inundated by floodwater, bringing the total to 69 families.
Of the total, he said 163 victims from 57 families were currently housed at the temporary relief centre at Dewan Haji Mohamad Padil in Kampung Lintang.
“They comprise 57 men, 65 women, 29 boys, 10 girls and one disabled person,” he said in a statement.
He said the number of evacuees still housed at the community hall in Kampung Tok Sirat, however, remained at 49 from 12 families.
The evacuees were from Kampung Lintang, Kampung Pondok, Kampung Cherakoh and Kampung Batu 11, he said.
