Nigerian charged for murdering Serdang Hospital nurse
SEPANG: A 36-year-old Nigerian man was charged with murdering Serdang Hospital nursing sister Siti Kharina Mohd Kamarudin, in the Magistrate Court this morning.
The accused, Alowonle Oluwajuwon Gilbert from Benin City, Nigeria was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code. No plea was recorded.
He was remanded four days ago.
The murder charge was then read to Oluwajuwon by a court interpreter in English in front of Magistrate A. Akhiruddin@Boy Acho.
Deputy public prosecutor Nasharina Nazlan prosecuted, but Oluwajuwon was unrepresented.
According to the charge, he murdered Siti Kharina, 40, at Tower 1, Third Avenue Condominium between 12.41 am on May 9 and 2.30pm on May 15.
No plea was recorded from the accused who was unrepresented.
Two other suspects in this case – a 35-year-old Nigerian women and a 38-year-old Pakistani man, were released on court bonds worth RM10,000 and RM11,000. The courts also impounded their passports.
The court fixed July 31 for mention, pending the submission of DNA reports, hand phones, Chemistry Department report and a recording from the closed-circuit television.Siti Kharina was reported missing since May 8 and was found dead in a condominium unit in Cyberjaya a week later with slash wounds on her chest, neck and head.
She leaves behind a husband and three daughters aged between 10 and 14.
