Najib trolls Guan Eng again over ballooning govt expenditure
PUCHONG: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak once again trolled Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng for increasing government expenditure this year.
In a Facebook post today, the Pekan MP said the government’s operating cost for the third quarter of this year has increased to 25% from the same period recorded last year, based on the Finance Ministry Treasury Report.
“The operating cost of the third quarter of 2018 also showed an increase of 14.1% from the same period of 2017, when Barisan Nasional was the government,” he said.
Najib said that among the reasons for the latest expenditure was due to the high interest rate, which shot up to 37.5% or RM8.7 billion, which is a result of the government’s move to increase the national debt in the first quarter of the year.
“This is what the Finance Ministry said, not what Najib says,” he said.
