KUALA LUMPUR: Lawyer Ashraf Razak told the High Court that the former firm he worked in, Zulqarnain and Co, received RM2.5 million for a defence contract on Feb 2, 2015.
Responding to DPP Saifuddin, Asraf said the cheque was given by Habibul Rahman Kadir, a corporate figure who leads Fuel Subs House Sdn Bhd.
“It is for the tender to manage fuel petrol subsidy. At that time, Habibul told me that the payment was for a defence contract,” Ashraf said.
Then CIMB deputy manager Edward Innasi confirmed that the bank processed the cheque in 2015.
Innasi was the 19th witness in the case.
