Najib proposes Kit Siang for Umno
PUCHONG: Pekan MP Datuk Seri Najib Razak has proposed DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang to join Umno as the latter has been busy over himself and present Umno president, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is also Bagan Datuk MP.
He even filled up an Umno membership form for Lim and named himself as the proposer on Facebook while referring to the DAP lawmaker as Menhen. Menhen is a moniker given to Lim as Lim has been consistently commenting on Najib and Umno.
“What cannot be denied is the fact that Umno’s affairs and I are close to his heart. Why trouble yourself from outside?”
“Menhen should just join Umno. That is why I agreed to suggest that he fill up the Umno application form.”
Najib filled the state, name and proposer slots in the form which is also included in the Facebook post.
Najib however allowed Umno to decide on whether the Malay nationalist party would accept Lim into its fold.
“I can’t guarantee on whether Umno will approve his membership. “(I am) concerned it might be rejected on the grounds of lacking integrity and sanity,” he added.
This came about in response to Lim’s claim earlier today that Zahid’s return to helm Umno was meant to save Najib because Najib’s influence is diminishing.
The former Umno chief stressed Zahid’s decision was his own and was not connected to himself (Najib).
Zahid announced that he is ending his garden leave yesterday.
