Najib: Lim’s manipulation is beyond logic

PUCHONG: DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng’s manipulation is beyond anyone’s comprehension, said former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Najib also said that Lim’s claims that if Malaysia was ruled by the opposition party, the government would not be well governed to the extend that even civil servants’s salaries would not be paid, was baseless.

“The previous government always paid the civil servants’ their salaries and we have proven to be a better government, way better than Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“For example, the previous government had its credit rating upgraded to the benefit of the people,” he said, on his Facebook post yesterday.

Najib said that Lim himself had admitted that Malaysia credit ratings remained unchanged after the 14th General Election, which was an achievement by the previous administration.

The Pekan MP also reminded Lim that by end of 2017, the World Bank itself had predicted that Malaysia will achieve the high-income economy status by 2020.

“And this was said by the World Bank, not some local artistes,” said Najib.

He also said that when Barisan Nasional (BN) win the next general election, the coalition and PAS will govern the nation better than Pakatan.

“And we will definitely do a better job than the failed accountant who has made Malaysia the world worst performing stock market,” he said.

Meanwhile, Najib also admonished Lim for threatening to sue online news portal, Free Malaysia Today, for allegedly accusing the DAP leader of tarnishing Islamic based political parties.

Yesterday, FMT published a news piece titled “Guan Eng dakwa Malaysia binasa jika diperintah ‘parti Melayu Islam’”. ( Guan Eng claims that Malaysia will perish if ruled by Malay-Muslim party)

However, Lim dismissed the news report saying the online portal had misquoted him. The minister also threatened legal action against the organisation.

FMT quickly published an apology and changed the news title to “Guan Eng dakwa ‘habislah’ Malaysia jika diperintah sebuah ‘parti pembangkang” ( Guan Eng claims that Malaysia will be doomed if it was ruled by the opposition party.”

Najib, however, said the title change does not make any difference to its connotation.

“Even though the title has changed, the meaning remains the same. The opposition party consists of Malay Muslim parties,” he said.
