Najib: Give ang pow to all IPTAs, not only KUTAR
PUCHONG: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today urged Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to give staffs of all institutions of higher learning (IPTA) ang pow for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration.
In a Facebook post, Najib said he should be fair to all IPTA staff, as Lim was reported to have given green light for Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (KUTAR) staffs to be given RM600 ang paw for the Lunar New Year.
“KUTAR alumni will be using the RM40 million allocation received from the government to reward their staff.
“If that is the case, Lim should also give other IPTAs in the country ang pow.
“I have no problems KUTAR staffs getting the ang pow but please be fair to all,” said the Pekan MP.
Yesterday, KUTAR alumni announced that they would give out RM600 to all its 2,000 staffs for the upcoming CNY celebration.
The alumni also was reported saying that the move received Lim’s approval, in his capacity as Finance Minister.
