PUCHONG: My Events International ventured into Pakistan with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with My Events Pakistan.

My Events Pakistan was represented by its Managing Director, Abd Hakeem Kazi whereas My Events International was represented by its Group Chief Operating Officer, Vivienne Goh.

Kazi told The Leaders Online that his office which is based in Karachi currently has five staff and he is looking to raise the number to 15.

He also shared his thoughts on this new venture.

“I have been here for three and a half years now.  Then I did exhibitions in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Turkey. I am reunited with My Events now,” said Kazi who was with My Events International.

“We are planning to have tourism related events in Lahore in October and a social media and digital marketing event in Karachi in December,” he said after the signing ceremony.

He also said Pakistan is a huge market to tap in.

“It is a huge market for trade and machinery.  Up to 47 percent revenue is generated in Karachi alone.  There are also four major ports in Pakistan with two in Karachi alone.

“We are also tapping into China through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor by organizing trade investment forums and country exhibitions with Pakistan friendly nations,” said Kazi.

Goh meanwhile said that the company is targeting the Pakistan market.

“My Events is planning to spread its wings to 20 countries by 2020. Pakistan is the ninth.  We believe Pakistan will be a big market to tap and we are sure a partnership there will be a success,” she said.

“We are also close with the Gulf Cooperation Council nations and have projects targeting them,” she said.

My Events International is an event management company and it also has operations in Saudi Arabia which will assist its Pakistan chapter.
