Muhyiddin to meet the PN leaders in Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA – A meeting between the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and party leaders under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government is expected to take place this afternoon.

The information went viral through the WhatsApp application since early this morning, among others, mentioning that the meeting was held at the Perdana Putra building near here at 5 pm.

The political climate returned to heat after a few days of Muhyiddin insisting that his legitimacy as Prime Minister would be determined in Parliament next September.

Meanwhile, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Communications Director Fahmi Fadzil on Tuesday reportedly confirmed that the party had sent a letter to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to reject Muhyiddin’s leadership.

According to a portal report, Muhyiddin is also scheduled to meet with Sabah and Sarawak political leaders in Kuala Lumpur today. Muhyiddin this morning chaired a cabinet meeting in his office.

On August 3, the UMNO Supreme Working Council (MKT) meeting unanimously attracted support for PN.

Following that, two UMNO ministers, Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad respectively as Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Minister of Higher Education announced their resignations.
