PETALING JAYA: The two teenage girls who went missing after celebrating the Tamil New Year together on Sunday (April 14) were attempting to run away from home.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said both girls were found by one of their aunts at the KTM Batu Tiga station at 2.30am on Monday (April 15).

Statement from one of the girl’s parent on Facebook.

“She brought the two girls to her house in Sungai Buloh.

“She only took them to the Petaling Jaya police headquarters at around 7.30pm on Monday,” he said when contacted.

Meanwhile, in one of the girl’s mother’s Facebook, residents gave a mix reaction to the incident. Some even criticized parenting issues and time wasted looking for the girls and some seen supportive towards the incident.

Natshatra Navanita, 15, and Divya Munian, 16, had been reported to have gone missing since 11.40pm last night and were last seen at the Maxwell Tower Condo in Gasing Indah, where they had gone to celebrate Tamil New Year.

One of the girls’ parents said the pair were believed to have taken a Grab car last night but never reached their home.

In response to reports on social media this morning, the Grab e-hailing company said that “according to the system, the ride was canceled and our driver-partner proceeded to his next job”.
