Minor reshuffle in parliament select committees

KUALA LUMPUR: A minor reshuffle has taken place in the various select committees formed in the Dewan Rakyat, stated a special report on the Selection Committee.

Ramkarpal Singh (Bukit Gelugor – PH) replaced Nurul Izzah Anwar (Permatang Pauh – PH) as head of Consideration of Bills Committee. His vacancy was filled by Larry Sng (Julau – PH).

Akmal Nasir (Johor Baru – PH) replaced William Leong (Selayang – PH) in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC)as Leong quit to join the Major Public Appointments Committee.

Ismail Mohamed Said (Kuala Krau-BN) joined the PAC, filling up the vacancy of Noraini Ahmad (Parit Sulong-BN) who was appointed as the chairman.

In a related development Minister in Prime Minister’s Department proposed to replace Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Bera-BN) with Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as one of the Selection Committee members according to Standing Order 76.

The proposal is the seventh in today’s Dewan Rakyat Order Paper.
