KUALA LUMPUR: An unfortunate lorry accident on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) around 10 am today didn’t cause serious injury to anyone but triggered an avalanche of rice and bee hoon packets onto the road, as well as delays.
Petaling Jaya district police chief, ACP Mohd Zani Che Din, said the lorry which crashed and tipped over caused southbound traffic from Damansara to Subang to be backed up near Km14.1.
“The driver wasn’t injured, but his assistant sustained light injuries on his waist and knee.
“Only two lanes could be used while the cleanup was in progress. Traffic police are still monitoring the situation,” he said.
A picture of the overturned lorry and the rice spill has gone viral on social media.
