Kok: Use red palm oil to stay young like Dr M and me

KUALA LUMPUR: Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok caused the Dewan Rakyat to have a good laugh while urging MPs to consume more red palm oil to stay young.

“Red palm oil is also an anti-oxidant and has no trans fat. What the prime minister said recently (to take a spoonful of palm oil) is very clear. If we do so, we will be healthier and stronger.

“You should taste the deliciousness of red palm oil. All MPs will be given one bottle, so that you can stay young like the prime minister (Dr Mahathir Mohamad), the deputy speaker (Rashid Hasnon) and also me,” said the 55 year old minister.
She highlighted that palm oil is rich in nutrients such as vitamin E as well as saturated fatty acids and that there are 20 types of catenoids in red palm oil.

Opposition Leader Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Bera-BN) congratulated Kok for her youthfulness after consuming palm oil.

Kok who is also Seputeh MP said this in response to a question from Steven Choong (Tebrau-PH) on benefits of consuming palm oil.

She also said that integration in planting or livestock breeding would be the best option as oil palm is outweighing fruits.

“Many fruits can be planted in the short, medium and long term. Bananas, papayas and pineapples are good for the short term, while the salak fruit is good for the medium term.

“As for the planting of spruce saps (getah pepagar), integration of fruits such as durian, starfruit and cempedak can be carried out,” she said.
