KFA hopes to get annual grant fast

SIK: Kedah Football Association (KFA) president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir hoped the Malaysian Football League (MFL) will not take too long to channel the annual grants to participating teams in the Super League and Premier League.

He said the grant was very important for the survival of all teams, and if not channelled in the near future it would affect the team management and players’ performance.

“Even Kedah feel it (deferment of grant payments) because the cost to finance KFA is high.

“We do not want this deferment to undermine players’ performance when it reaches the final stages,” he told reporters here today.

He was commenting on a newspaper report today that league teams might have to wait until August to get their annual grants from MFL.

However, MFL has dismissed the report as baseless.
