Istana Negara: Anwar did not present any names to the King

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, simply submitted the number of Members of the House of Representatives who allegedly supported him to Istana Negara, without submitting any name list.

Following the action, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin AlMustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah, advised Anwar to abide by and respect the legal constitution as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin in a statement said the PKR President submitted the number of MPs involved when he was received before the King for about 25 minutes, this morning.

“It was informed that the King agreed to receive Anwar at the Istana Negara at 11am this morning.

“In this session which lasted for about 25 minutes, Anwar submitted the number of Dewan Rakyat Members who allegedly supported him.

“However, he did not submit the list of members names of the Dewan Rakyat to prove his allegation,” he said in a statement from Istana Negara, today.

Ahmad Fadul said, following that, the King advised Anwar to abide by and respect the legal process as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.

Anwar was supposed to appear before the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on September 22, but was postponed due to his illness which he underwent treatment at the National Heart Institute from September 21 to October 3, 2020.
